Marketing your small business: Give your customers the gift of time!

If it feels to you like this is a long summer that has just flown by, you’re right. It is, and it has.
That’s because the average American doesn’t feel like he or she has enough time to get everything done. Survey after survey reveals the same theme: We all want more time to spend with our loved ones.

‘Gee, I wish I would have spent more time at the office.’”

Want to delight your customers and steal customers from your competition? Give them time.
You can start small. Start with remembering people’s names. Keep good service records so you know which color they use in their hair or what kind of car they drive. It takes less time when they don’t have to explain their needs to you for the fifth time. And it shows you care.
Take a look at the buying process for your product or service. Are you easy to find? Are your products categorized in a way that makes it easy to select the right one? Look for inefficiencies in the process and remove them.
Give a customer a dollar and she’ll say, “Thanks.” Give a customer an hour, and she’ll say, “Oh, my gosh, what would I ever do without you?”
